Accounts Payable Specialist


Role Purpose:

Our client is a long-established freight forwarding company who are now looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team in Dublin 11. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the successful candidate will play a key role in the busy finance department supporting all activities in the accounts’ payable function, from invoice processing to account reconciliations to processing weekly payment runs.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm, with some flexibility for the successful candidate


Responsibilities:

• Assist in the processing of Suppliers invoices across all entities.
• Liaise with warehouse and supply chain operators/Colleagues on PO/receipts and invoice queries.
• Support Finance team with interim and annual audit requirements.
• Processing of Supplier payments on a weekly basis.
• Posting daily bank transactions and performing bank reconciliation weekly.
• Preparation of VAT, VIES and Intrastat returns.
• Monthly creditors reconciliations and statement requests.
• Managing and maintaining master data files for all suppliers.
• Monitoring of the groups finance mailbox.
• Various office administration duties and ad-hoc duties as they arise.
• Communications with Clients, Sub-Contractors, and internal teams


Knowledge and Experience:

• 3-5 years’ experience in similar role.
• Require strong customer service orientation, highly motivated, with strong business acumen and sound interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) Azyra freight forwarding a serious advantage.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Pro-active “Can Do” attitude
• Flexible and adaptable to change.
• Attention to detail with good written and spoken English.
• Problem solving ability and able to work on their own initiative as well as in a high performing team.
• Continuous professional development and on-going training provided.
