Health & Safety Officer

Role Purpose:

The main function of this role is to Support the Health & Safety team in all aspects of Health and Safety across the Plant along with assisting in driving the Health & Safety agenda.


As part of the Health and Safety Department you will be required to:
• Help prepare health and safety strategies.
• Help carry out risk assessments, identify how risk could be reduced & produce reports to
suggest improvements.
• Carry out site inspections to check policies and procedures are being executed correctly on
sites in ours.
• Keep records of any inspections findings or accidents on site and produce statistics for
• Partake in training with site management/staff about health and safety issues and risks
• Ensure equipment is installed safely.
• After time provide advice on a range of specialist areas such as: fire regulations, noise & safe use of machinery.

Knowledge and Experience:

• Analyse problems and come up with ideas.
• Attentive and willing to learn.
• You will be expected to keep yourself up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect our

unquestionable integrity.
3 year's relevant experience preferably within the meat or food industry.
• Third level qualification.
• Experience of working in a dynamic business is desirable.
• Solid working knowledge of MS Office.
